The Meaning Of A Red Painted Front Door

If you have a home in the Catskills or Hudson Valley upstate NY areas you may have a front door painted red. I was curious, as to the meaning of a homes front door painted red, as Kellogg's Painting does paint a lot of doors red in the Catskills and Hudson Valley New York areas. 


Going back in time a homes front door painted the color red meant welcome. Tired travelers using horse and buggy would know that they could stop in your home and rest, as they would be welcomed.

Catskill, NY Log Home Staining

The painters at Kellogg's Painting applied Sherwin Williams Log Home Stain to this Catskill, NY home. The stain has a nice satin sheen. It was applied to all window trim, overhangs and log wood siding. The original stain was deteriorated and had failed. Kellogg's Painting removed all of the original stain, ph balanced the wood and then applied new stain.

The professional painters at Kellogg's Painting did a great job painting these hallways in Catskill, NY. This building was renovated into high end apartments. Kellogg's Painting Company was the painting contractor that did all of the painting in this building. The building included 6 units, hallways and stair wells.
